Govt approves revised pay scales for psu employees, In summary the government on Thursday announced a hefty 50 to 300 percent increase in pay-packages with effect from January 1, 2007. The new scales for 1,20,000 non-unionised supervisory staff and 2,58,000 board level officers in 216 operational Central PSUs. approved uniform fitment of 30 percent of basic pay plus dearness allowance for profit making PSUs with effect from January 1, 2007.
For weak and non-profitable PSUs, the fitment will depend on their affordability and will range between 10 percent and 20 per cent. The Cabinet relied on the Committee of Secretaries recommendations to classify PSUs into four categories - A, B, C and D, instead of five categories - A+, A, B, C and D recommended by the Rao Committee in May. The chairman of 'A' category PSU will now be eligible for Rs 80,000 to 1,25,000 pay scale as against Rs 18,500 to 23,900 currently. There are 247 CPSEs, of which 216 are in operation. In all 16,14,000 are employed in these, of which 12,36,000 are unionised workmen who negotiate their wages directly with their respective companies. reports zee news

Over 1.6 million employees working in the estimated 240 central public sector undertakings (PSUs) are likely to receive a 50 to 60 per cent salary increase, possibly with retrospective effect from January 2006. The second PSU pay revision committee, headed by former Supreme Court Justice M Jagannadha Rao, is in advanced stages of finalising its award due April-end and plans to submit its report to the government soon after.

the chairman of a schedule A (top-ranked navratnas like IndianOil, ONGC and NTPC, among others) central PSU, whose annual cost to company (CTC) works out to Rs 12 lakh to Rs 14 lakh, could earn a gross Rs 20 lakh after the award. This will be far in excess of what an additional secretary in the government of India will get on account of the new Pay Commission award. At the bottom of the PSU pay scale, an entry level attendant in a leading power PSU has a CTC of around Rs 22,000 per month, which could go up to Rs 33,000.

I would be extremely happy if what is said on the new pay revision for PSU's is put into practice rather than keeping its employees waiting with their mouths open. It is high time the Government acts on its move. Enhanced Gratuity also should be taken care of in case there is no pension benefit available to a Govt. employee.

Thanks to the leader of FCI who got the FCI wage revision done from Ministry at a belated stage and expected Memorandum of Settlement to be signed on 1.4.2010 for Class III and IV employees. How will our recognized union's contention surfice us the plea that if we will delay the matter, we will get better pay scale than others PSUs. Is our pay scales and fringe benefit is in consonance with Class I & II offiers of this organisation where no union exists?

Mr.PM & Mrs.President - Give us today our daily bread as we can no longer stand inflation inspite of the fact that you claim that prices are now dwindling. There's absolutely nothing that has come down but on the contrary our hearts have been beating even faster than usual. Survival is meant only for the fittest. So plz. issue a Notification on the Gratuity amount as I am a Govt. PSU retired employee with no pension benefit and it is really hard to survive.
It is not understood why pay scale of superversory cadre is not allowed by Management in PSU like NTPC,POWERGRID,BHEL etc.Since the supervisory cadre is non unionised it can be esaily given to them .The benifit of scale revision is only being enjoyed by the executive cadre since last SEP'2009, but management is quite sailent about the revision of supervisory cadre .Manageshould take acre of giving revision to them as given to the Executives.
It is surprised to observe that pay revision of supervisory cadre staff of organisation like NTPC, POWERID has not been allowed by the Management, although revision of Executive cadre is seen as allowed from last 9 months. This sorts of unjustified action taken in the same organisation is not satisfactory.So far it is understood Govt. has allowed to provide revised scale to supervisory cadre.
As per Govt. decession scale revision is given to the Supervisory cadre Employee alongwith Executives,but in fact benifit is observed as given only to the Executive cadre, reason for not allowing wage revision to supervisors is not clear.PSU Management should think over the matter and arrange to allow the benifit of pay revision to trhe supervisors accordingly.
It is understtod that Govt has approved the pay revision of supervisors in respect PSU's along with Excecurive cadres, but PowerGrid Management has not allowed the revision to supervisors, although this has been approved by the Govt of India.This sorts of manupulation done by Management is not att all satisfactory.Management should think over the matter and arrange to settle the issue without any further delay as it is the legimate claim of supervisry cadre stff of corporation.
I retired from a CPSU namely Mazagon Docks Ltd. Mumbai on 31.12.2008 as a Supervisor. Many PSU's have enhanced their gratuity to Rs.10 lakhs w.e.f. 01.01.2007 and have even paid their retirees whereas we still eagerly await to receive the balance arrears of Rs.6.5 lakhs minus the taxation of almost about Rs.2 lakhs. Can anyone help in this regard?

The pay scale is good for the people who got it , while there is some PSU lile BVFCL Namrup who is still to get any salari enhancement either in the form of pay scale or other wise in the excuse that it is not making profit , Though it is the only Urea making Fartilizer in this entire eastern region and contributing huge ly in countries productiun capability of urea ... Fresh candidates are leaving this organization in the quest for greener pastures and this PSU is left on the marcy of Govt apathy

The SAIL has payment made to the retired executives pay differences and gratuity etc., but perks and allowances and HRA differences has not been paid to the retirees till to date. Whether it is justified?. The retired executives are also sacrified to the organisation and also they have not yet getting pensions etc. In view of the above, the leaders or the govt. has to taken decission to pay the allowance to the retirees with out fail, when the exhisting executives or enjoying of the above benefits, why not pay to the retired executives w.e.f.01.01.2007. Hopes so the leaders should taken in to consideration with out further delay. A line of reply waiting.
